We finished! 24 hours of racing, 42 hours awake, my first time night racing, and my first time driving at Oregon Raceway Park. Thank you Cathy and all of Lucky Dog Racing League for a fantastic event as well as Dan Kuehn for giving me the opportunity to drive for your team! We overcame a number of little issues and ultimately dealt with a cracked header that finally let go but we crossed the line in 7th in class and 18th overall (a feat nonetheless). I was able to set the second fastest time in C class during my midnight stint on the short course with a 1:17 and enjoyed racing with a number of the B class cars. But reliability was of course the name of the game and I was glad to put in three consistent stints without an offs or spins. The Gray Cloud Racing team was so welcoming and I’m so glad I was able to be a part of their effort. My dad and Joe Betts came along with me to join as crew and us drivers were very grateful for their help. Lastly, Oregon Raceway Park is a blast! It might be my new favorite track and I felt comfortable right away. I’m definitely going back! Thank you to all of the volunteers, e-crew, and corner workers for keeping everyone safe for 24 straight hours! You guys all rock. Can’t wait for my next endurance race with Lucky Dog. This series is truly what racing is all about!
